Between two sizes? On closed styles — boots, loafers, sneakers, walking shoes — take the larger size. On open sandals take the smaller one, so your foot does not sit over the edge.

Men’s and women’s scales are different. A men’s 9 is not a women’s 9 — match on foot length, not on the number.
How to measure
Your foot
- Put a sheet of paper flat against a wall and stand on it, heel touching the wall.
- Mark the paper at the tip of your longest toe — that is not always the big toe.
- Measure from the wall edge of the paper to the mark.
- Measure both feet and use the larger one.
- Do it at the end of the day, when your feet are at their widest.
Your body
- Bust or chest — around the fullest part, tape level all the way round and not pulled tight.
- Waist — around the narrowest part of your natural waist, above the navel.
- Hip — around the fullest part, roughly 8 in (20 cm) below the waist.
Measure over underwear or a thin top, not over a jumper. Keep the tape snug enough to stay in place but loose enough to slide a finger under.
Women's Tiered Renaissance Ball Gown Costume
A period gown built to be seen across a room. The build: a floor-length dress with a high stand collar tied in a large bow, puffed long sleeves and a five-tier ruffled skirt, pulled in at the waist with a black lace-up cinch belt. Available in Red, Black and White.

Fit And Sizing
This gown runs small: the 2XL is closer to a US Large. Choose by the garment measurements below, not by the letter, and take the larger size if you fall between two. Measurements are taken flat from the gown in inches; allow up to 1 inch either way.

Good To Know
Costume fabric is not flame resistant, so keep it well away from candles, heaters and lit pumpkins. The skirt is floor length with a wide sweep, so take care on stairs and in crowded rooms.
