Between two sizes? On closed styles — boots, loafers, sneakers, walking shoes — take the larger size. On open sandals take the smaller one, so your foot does not sit over the edge.

Men’s and women’s scales are different. A men’s 9 is not a women’s 9 — match on foot length, not on the number.
How to measure
Your foot
- Put a sheet of paper flat against a wall and stand on it, heel touching the wall.
- Mark the paper at the tip of your longest toe — that is not always the big toe.
- Measure from the wall edge of the paper to the mark.
- Measure both feet and use the larger one.
- Do it at the end of the day, when your feet are at their widest.
Your body
- Bust or chest — around the fullest part, tape level all the way round and not pulled tight.
- Waist — around the narrowest part of your natural waist, above the navel.
- Hip — around the fullest part, roughly 8 in (20 cm) below the waist.
Measure over underwear or a thin top, not over a jumper. Keep the tape snug enough to stay in place but loose enough to slide a finger under.
Women's Queen of Hearts Mini Dress Costume
Short at the front, full length from the side. The build: a black, white and red corset-style mini dress with a sweetheart neckline, a tall standing ruffled collar, red hearts down the front and a ruffled skirt over a black petticoat, with a long open overskirt trailing behind and a matching headpiece. What Makes The Difference
- Trailing Overskirt. It falls from the waist and turns a mini dress into a full-length silhouette from the side.

Fit And Sizing
Measurements are taken flat from the dress in inches; allow up to 2 inches either way. Bust and waist are ranges because the corset bodice has some give. Dress length runs from the shoulder to the front hem and does not include the floor-length overskirt. If you fall between two sizes, take the larger one.

Costume fabric is not flame resistant, so keep it well away from candles, heaters and lit pumpkins. The overskirt trails behind, so take care on stairs and in crowds.
