Measurements are body measurements, not garment measurements. Allow up to 0.5 in (1 cm) difference between production runs.

Between two sizes? On closed styles — boots, loafers, sneakers, walking shoes — take the larger size. On open sandals take the smaller one, so your foot does not sit over the edge.

Men’s and women’s scales are different. A men’s 9 is not a women’s 9 — match on foot length, not on the number.
How to measure
Your foot
- Put a sheet of paper flat against a wall and stand on it, heel touching the wall.
- Mark the paper at the tip of your longest toe — that is not always the big toe.
- Measure from the wall edge of the paper to the mark.
- Measure both feet and use the larger one.
- Do it at the end of the day, when your feet are at their widest.
Your body
- Bust or chest — around the fullest part, tape level all the way round and not pulled tight.
- Waist — around the narrowest part of your natural waist, above the navel.
- Hip — around the fullest part, roughly 8 in (20 cm) below the waist.
Measure over underwear or a thin top, not over a jumper. Keep the tape snug enough to stay in place but loose enough to slide a finger under.
Women's Green Velvet Princess Gown Costume
A storybook gown in deep green velvet. The build: a long dress with a square neckline, fitted sleeves that taper to a point over the hand and a full skirt from a pointed waist, with a pale gold embroidered bodice edged in gold braid. A long ginger braided wig comes with it. Available in Green.
What Makes The Difference
- Velvet With Depth. The pile catches light and reads as rich color rather than flat green.
- Embroidered Bodice. A pale gold vine pattern with gold braid at the neck and waist.
- Full Skirt. Cut full from the waist seam, so it holds its shape without a petticoat.
- Wig Included. A long braid that sits over one shoulder and finishes the look.
- Warm Enough For Outside. Velvet is one of the few costume fabrics that survives a late-October evening.
Fit And Sizing
Measurements are taken flat from the gown in inches, so compare them with a dress you already own. The velvet has very little stretch: if you fall between two sizes, take the larger one. Dress length runs from the shoulder to the hem and falls mid-calf to ankle depending on your height.

Good To Know
Costume fabric and wig fiber are not flame resistant, so keep them well away from candles, heaters and lit pumpkins. Never use a hairdryer or straightener on the wig.
